Thermal Build specialise in all works involving Planning Permission and Building Control, all the stuff customers don't want to deal with. From the start we design, advise and help create the build you desire to get the most out of your future build. We do all the planning applications, building control applications and we also ensure all the building control site inspections go as smoothly as possible. As a business we have members of staff who have certificates in Building Control and we are also associate members of CABE (The chartered association of engineers). So when an inspector from the council or a private building control company do your inspection you have the peace of mind that your works will comply and meet the regulations required by BC.
Consultation
Thermal Build offer free no obligation estimates and consultations to help you design and build the space you've been dreaming of. We listen to all your needs, and we begin to plan and develop your extension whether it be a small porch to a full house build. We also advise on the energy saving aspect including the new U-value uplift (build fabric) which is now in effect. Cavity wall sizes which have now increased to 350mm meaning the internal floor space isn't what first thought. We check for trees and how close they are to the excavation so there are no nasty costly unforeseen, any trees within 5 metres of the excavation can determine how deep we have to excavate. BC state 1000mm deep x 600mm wide but if the trees are of a certain type we may have to dig to 2 metres deep this is called an unforeseen at at a cost to yourself , but we identify all these outcomes before we price your works. Once we have planned and designed your build we then take over all the planning and building control applications. When planning is granted we will agree a start date and a schedule of works will be drawn up.
